Miss VietNam World 2010’s social and charitable fund visiting and delivering aid relief to the people of flood- affected province of Quang Binh

A delegation of Miss Vietnam World 2010 made a meaningful 3-day trip to the flood-stricken province of Quang Binh from October 23^rd to 25^th.

Hearing news about the big losses and damages resulted in the recent record flood to Central people, Vinpeal JSC, the Organizer of Miss Vietnam World, deducted VND1billion from the Pageant’s social and charitable fund to support the people in dealing with the aftermath of the calamity.

No sooner than the flood had subsided than the first relief trip to Quang Binh was made. This trip involved the participation of Mr. Do Thanh Hai (Head of in the Jury of the Preliminary Round, General Director of the Final Round) and Phan Thi Ly, Nguyen Thi Huong - two contestants of the Miss Vietnam World 2010 and especially of the reigning Queen Luu Thi Diem Huong. Although Huong was busy promoting environmental protection activities of Miss Earth until afternoon of October 24^th, she managed to reach Quang Binh that night.

During the trip, the Delegation visited 3 communes of An Ninh, Hien Ninh and Vo Ninh in Quang Ninh District and presented 750 aid packs of VND300million in total value to a number of people most affected by the terrible flood. Each pack consists of instant noodles, air jackets, dry provisions, seasoning powder, eye drops and stomach medicine and VND200,000)

“During the past few days, I have always been following news about the flood in the Central area. I feel very sorry for the grief, devastation and losses that the local people have been suffering. Taking part in this trip, I would like to make my modest contribution to the society’s relief efforts. Seeing by my own eyes the bad situation and hard life here, watching the donations coming to Quang Binh from nationwide, I am more aware of the mission of a Queen, which I did not fully understand before. I hope our community will give hands to help the Central people, for my part, I will also try my best to help enhance the relief efforts” Diem Huong shared.

Miss Vietnam World‘s Social and Charitable Fund plans to organize other relief batches to the Central of Vietnam within this week.

At the same time, Vingroup, the mother company of Vinpearl JSC, has also sent the first direct aid batch among the VND6billion announced by the Company to donate people of flood-stricken provinces. VinGroup has distributed 2,500 aid packs of more than VND 400,000 for each to people in the districts of Can Loc, Loc Ha of Ha Tinh Province and Le Thuy District, Quang Binh province. Each pack includes rice, seasoning power, dry provisions, cooking oil, air jacket, eye drops, stomach medicine and VND 200,000).
